Listing heritage features in the District Plan aims to recognise inherent or associated heritage values and to encourage the protection of these values by appropriate conservation techniques. The criteria for identifying buildings, structures, and areas in the District Plan may include places with archaeological, architectural, cultural, historic, scientific or technological qualities and whether the place is rare or unique, representative of a particular style or era, authentic and/or contributes to a group of places.
