Layer: Valuation Parcels - DEC2023 (ID: 122)

Parent Layer: Valuation Parcels

Name: Valuation Parcels - DEC2023

Display Field: full_app

Type: Feature Layer

Geometry Type: esriGeometryPolygon

Description: The Valuation_Property dataset is created byusingthe latest monthly parcel layer from LINZ and then joiningrating valuation data from the AO515 table to each parcelvia the parcel ID. Then, all parcels that have identical rating data are “dissolved” to show the whole rating unit. For example, this means that if a house is partly on two different parcels and maybe there is one record of title for the two parcels, then there will be only one rating unit that covers both parcels. The 2 parcels are dissolved so they display as a single polygon There will be some gaps because newly created parcels will not be rated until the start of the next financial year ( 1 July ). Some Valuation Properties may contain many flats or units. In these cases, it is not practical to display information about all the units/flats, so only a ‘parent’ record is displayed. The parent record contains “ZAPCS” in the “locgovcode” field. Each unit or flat on a single valuation property, will have a different valuation suffix number but they will all share the same valuation roll and assessment (shows as assess) number. Each part is regarded as a ‘child’ record of the ‘parent” that is represented by the ZAPCS record. It is important to recognise that the many flats/units on a single parent record, may have different uses. For example, some could be commercial and some residential, etc. For more information please contact the Land Customer Property Information team.
